    Glycolic acid is a colorless and odorless alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA). It’s a chemical exfoliator that disrupts the connections between dead skin cells, allowing them to be easily wiped away and revealing smoother, fresher skin beneath.

    The glycolic acid peel smoothes and softens the skin’s surface by eliminating dead skin cells and debris, allowing products to penetrate more easily and do their job better. To improve the complexion, Glycolic Peel chemically exfoliated a thin layer of dead cells. This treatment can be used to minimize the appearance of dark spots and restore the skin’s overall vibrancy. 

    Using glycolic acid, it is possible to exfoliate the skin’s layers more deeply and so stimulate collagen formation. In some situations, glycolic acid for hyperpigmentation can even help reduce the appearance of dark spots as well as large pores and control acne.

    The steps of glycolic face peel are:

    Skin Cleanse

    The first stage of a glycolic peel is to remove surface contaminants and makeup. A gauze pad soaked in alcohol is used to wipe off any greasy layer on the surface.

    Application

    Our aesthetician applies the liquid glycolic acid solution with a brush over the entire treatment area while your eyes are covered by goggles. The first glycolic acid peel is always at a concentration of 20%. The exfoliating action of the glycolic facial may cause a tingling or burning sensation on the skin. 

    Reaction

    The glycolic face peel reacts with your skin for around five minutes. This varies depending on the concentration and the skin reaction. During the process, our aesthetician will set a timer and carefully monitor your skin for any reaction.

    Glycolic Acid Neutralization

    Exfoliation is controlled using cold water. For the best glycolic acid peel, our aesthetician neutralizes the glycolic acid by gently rinsing the treatment area, which soothes the skin instantly.

    Is there any downtime after the treatment?

    You will have downtime following a medium or deep peel. A severe chemical peel requires 2 to 3 weeks of recovery time at home.

    When will I be able to see the glycolic peel results?

    You will see the results once your skin has healed. Healing time for a refreshing peel ranges from one day to 14 days or longer for a deep peel. 

    How long do the results last?

    Because our skin ages, most outcomes are not permanent, but the results will last anywhere from 1-2 months.
